the sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 apo dg macro is a very chip lens it's cost around the 220$
it's give u a great return for ur money' her macro his not 1/1 it's 1/2
if u dont have the money for a good tele lens or a real macro lens this is the one for u! :)

wow, that is cheap! i don't understand 1/1, 1/2m what do you mean by that?

so, it can be used as a tele lens? but isn't f/4 a bit too big for a macro lens? shouldn't it be, like, 2.8 or something?

in real macro lens u get a 1/1magnified...means that the picture u take is in the size of ur sensor...
in the 70-300 the magnified is 1/2 mean that twice ur sensor size is the pecture u take

and when u shooting macro u have a really really!!shallow DOF so when u shooting macro u allmost allways closing ur aperture to 9 or 11 sometimes even 16

and for to use the best quality that the lens (70-300) is offering, u got to close the aperture atleast to 9
the macro start only between 200-300mm...

with the risk of sounding stupdi - i still don't understand what you meant by 1/1 and 1/2. how can something be twice my sensor size? double the resolution???

is that the same lens you used to make the photo of the owl in your gallery?
